Submissions

St. John’s Law Review

The St. John’s Law Review accepts articles, essays, and reviews from all areas of the law, and is currently accepting article submissions for Volume 85 (2011). We accept articles on an ongoing basis. Thank you for your interest in publishing with us.

Submissions to the St. John’s Law Review should meet the following guidelines:

  1. Please submit a double-spaced copy of your article in Microsoft Word format.
  2. Articles should conform to the current edition of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation.
  3. Articles should be accompanied by a cover letter with your preferred method of contact and a CV.

Submissions may also be made in hard copy. Please do not submit your article by mail if you have also submitted the article electronically.

Expedited Review

Requests for expedited review should be sent directly to . In the body of your e-mail, please include the following information:

  1. Your name
  2. The title of your article
  3. The name of the journal that has extended an offer to you
  4. The date the offer expires

Commentary

The Editors of the St. John’s Law Review invite essay submissions on current areas of legal thought and research for Commentary, the online companion to the Law Review. Publication in Commentary is available to academics, judges, practitioners, and law students. Submission for Commentary should focus on important judicial decisions, legislative developments, and timely legal policy issues. Commentary pieces are placed in an expedited production schedule to be published in a timely fashion and on a rolling basis.

Submissions to Commentary should meet the following guidelines:

  1. Please submit a double-spaced copy of your article in Microsoft Word format.
  2. Articles should conform to the current edition of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation.
  3. To promote focused discussion of timely legal issues, articles should be between 2,000 and 3,500 words (inclusive of footnotes).
  4. Articles should be accompanied by a cover letter with your preferred method of contact and a CV.
